Week 6 Edmodo

I was really excited when I discovered Edmodo. It is a fantastic resource for both students and teachers in the classroom. There are many reasons that teachers would want to use Edmodo in their classroom. It gives teachers amazing control over their digital classroom. It allows the teacher to connect the students to the necessary resources and people they need in order to learn. Using Edmodo, teachers can easily manage coursework, assign homework, and interact with students. Teachers can post group messages and assignments and track students’ progress.
Edmodo has various helpful and useful features for the students and teachers. First, Edmodo allows teachers to connect with all the teachers in their school. This way, teachers can share ideas with their colleagues. They can learn from one  another and improve their coursework as well as how they are using Edmodo.
Another great feature is messaging. Using messaging, teachers can communicate effectively with students. Teachers can tell students what is expected of them, make important announcements or reminders, or give thoughts. Students will be happy to read the messages and will gain from them.
In addition, Edmodo has a library tab. Here, teachers can easily add files assignments, links, and more. Students can access the resources easily through the library. Everything stays organized, and students know where to find any resources that they are looking for.
Badges is another really cool feature. Teachers can award badges from a group’s Progress page or a student’s profile.
Last, assignments is an amazing part of Edmodo. Students can check what assignments they need to do, and teachers can check the assignments once the students give them in.

However, times change, and in the 21 st century technology plays a major role in our lives. In order to ensure that students are well prepared for life beyond school, they need to be given the opportunity to use and explore tech tools. The New Literacies are used to help students learn content, while getting all the gains of using technology. Students learn how to interpret words and images that they come across in tech tools, and they learn to communicate language using multimedia and online programs. St...
